Our mission is to benefit the community of Polk County, Texas, by providing recycling services, informing the community about the environment and how recycling can help reduce climate-related changes, and supporting beautification efforts throughout the county. We have worked hard to provide Polk County with an option for recycling aimed at reducing the cost of waste disposal, reducing our landfill footprint and improving the environment.

Accepted Materials
#1 & #2 Plastics, Cardboard, Mixed Paper, and
Aluminum and Steel "Tin" Cans
Only clean materials can be recycled - Please rinse your plastic containers and steel cans prior to drop off.
NOTE: We cannot accept plastic bags at this facility, but our local HEB and Brookshire Brothers both have bins outside their stores for these.
#1 Plastics
Clear Plastic Containers that have a triangle stamped in the plastic with a "1" inside, such as
Water bottles
Beverage bottles
Produce containers
Pantry aisle plastic containers (spices, condiments, etc.)
Remove all caps - these cannot be recycled at our facility
Rinse well to remove any residual food/drink waste
Labels do not need to be removed

#2 Plastics
Stiff colored or milky plastic containers that have a triangle stamped in the plastic with a "2" inside, such as
Milk / Water Jugs
Detergent Bottles
Shampoo / Conditioner Bottles
Remove all caps - these cannot be recycled at our facility
Rinse well
Labels do not need to be removed

Cardboard
Corrugated Cardboard such as delivery boxes;
Greasy boxes or boxes that have gotten wet cannot be recycled at this facility

Mixed Paper
Phone books, magazines, newspapers, junk mail, office paper, paperboard packaging (such as cereal or cracker boxes)
What doesn't qualify?
Receipts, photographs, wax paper, tissue paper, paper towels/napkins, paper cups, soup/beverage cartons, paper that has gotten wet or moldy, cross-cut shredded paper (shredded paper must be kept separate), hard cover books, books with plastic or metal binding.

Aluminum Cans
Cans only. Aluminum foil and other metals cannot be recycled at this facility. Please drain completely.

Steel "Tin" Cans
Steel cans are used to package everything from pet food to fruits, vegetables, and soup. Please rinse well to remove food waste. Then put the lid in the can - that's recyclable, too!
Labels do not need to be removed
