Our mission is to benefit the community of Polk County, Texas, by providing recycling opportunities, promoting the benefits of sustainable living, and supporting beautification efforts throughout the county. We strive to sustain and expand our recycling services to help reduce the cost of waste disposal, reduce our landfill footprint, and improve the environment.

Only clean materials can be recycled.
Please rinse your plastic containers and steel cans before drop off,
and keep boxes separate from other items to keep them dry.
NOTE: We are now accepting plastic bags!
#1 Plastics - PET
Clear Plastic Containers that have a triangle stamped in the plastic with a "1" inside, such as
-
Water bottles
-
Beverage bottles
-
Produce containers
-
Pantry aisle plastic containers (spices, condiments, etc.)
-
Remove all caps
-
Rinse well to remove any residual food/drink waste
-
Labels do not need to be removed

#2 Plastics - HDPE
Stiff colored or milky plastic containers that have a triangle stamped in the plastic with a "2" inside, such as
-
Milk / Water Jugs

Detergent Bottles
-
Shampoo / Conditioner Bottles

Remove all caps

Rinse well

Labels do not need to be removed

#5 Plastics - PP
Clear, colored, or milky plastic containers that have a triangle stamped in the plastic with a "5" inside, such as
Yogurt / Sour Cream Containers
Tupperware
Take Out Containers
Prescription Bottles
Rinse well
Labels do not need to be removed

Plastic Film
Please recycle only clean, dry plastic bags and film. Remove receipts or any other items from bags. Examples include:
Retail, carryout, produce, newspaper, bread, and dry cleaning bags (clean, dry and free of receipts and clothes hangers)
Bubble wrap, and air pillows (deflate)
Product wrap on cases of water/soda bottles, paper towels, napkins, and disposable cups
Furniture and electronic wrap
Any film packaging or bag that has a triangle with a "2", "4", "Store Drop Off" or the How2Recycle Label
Do not include:
Degradable/compostable bags or film packaging
Pre-washed salad mix bags
Frozen food bags
Candy bar wrappers
Chip bags

#3, #4, #6 & #7 Plastic
Flexible plastic stamped with a triangle with a number 3, 4, 6, or 7.
We cannot take Styrofoam or hard plastic that will shatter when crushed.

Corrugated Cardboard Boxes
Please break down all boxes.
Greasy boxes or boxes that have gotten wet or dirty are not recyclable and should be thrown away.

Aluminum Cans
Cans only. Aluminum foil and other metals cannot be recycled at this facility. Please drain cans completely.

Steel "Tin" Cans
(RECYCLING CENTER ONLY)
Steel cans are used to package everything from pet food to fruits, vegetables, and soup. Please rinse well to remove food waste. Then put the lid in the can - that's recyclable, too!
Labels do not need to be removed
